The £12 million plant has been built by Closed Loop London, a subsidiary of Closed Loop Environmental Solutions in Australia, with a £4·7 million investment from Foresight Group of Sevenoaks and grants from WRAP and the London Development Agency. The plant will recycle both PET and HDPE bottles and has potential customers for the flake in Coca-Cola Enterprises, Marks & Spencer, Nampak Plastics Europe and Solo Cup (Europe). A plant to recycle HDPE bottles which will supply flake to Nampak started up in April at Greenstar WES in Redcar.
