The PETrecycling.cz assessment based on R&D up-to-day results is, that it should be made clear, that all beverage containers, e.g. PET bottles, ALU cans and glass bottles, that are commercially imported into Czech Republic or sold here should be included in return systems with deposits - to encourage the consumers to take the bottles back

The Flake Purifier from S+S Separation and Sorting Technology has three sensors instead of the usual two for sorting recycled bottle flake.

The S+S Flake Purifier

The machine uses inductive sensors to detect metal contamination and optical sensors sensitive enough to separate dark blue and black particles. In addition to sorting by metal and colour contamination it has a multi-spectral sensor to identify different plastics, and it can carry out these three sorting tasks simultaneously.

The multi-spectral sensor enables the machine to separate PVC from PET, and in addition to detect the controversial possible presence of PLA.

The Flake Purifier is built in modules, so can be equipped with only the basic metal/colour sensors with the spectral analyser as an option for retrofitting.

The machine needs no cooling unit, minimising power consumption.
