Food Packaging: A Green Light for Recyclates?
The PETrecycling.cz assessment based on R&D up-to-day results is, that it should be made clear, that all beverage containers, e.g. PET bottles, ALU cans and glass bottles, that are commercially imported into Czech Republic or sold here should be included in return systems with deposits - to encourage the consumers to take the bottles back

Regulation EC282/2008 is a first and it covers “materials and objects made from recycled plastics intended to come in contact with food”.

   

Food Packaging: A Green Light for Recyclates?

It was passed by the Commission of European Communities on 27 March 2008 and is binding for all member countries.

Its effects on plastics recycling were the topic of discussion between Gerhard Gotzmann, Chief Editor of Kunststoffe, and Manfred Hackl, CEO of Erema, the Austrian manufacturer of recycling systems, and a member of the Technical Committee of Petcore in Brussels, Belgium, a non-profit European association for advancing, developing and applying – as well as for recycling – PET packaging.
