Recycling Centres for Municipal Waste in Hof Hacarmel Regional Council

The first phase of a recycling center project in the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council, on Israel's northern coastal plain, has just been completed. To date, 15 recycling centers for municipal waste have been established in the regional council, with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

The Haifa regional office of the Ministry of Environmental Protection expects to see a significant increase in the quantity of waste transferred for recycling throughout the regional council. Moreover, these recycling centers are expected to serve as models for other local authorities. The municipal division of the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council was responsible for the design, establishment and operation of the recycling centers.
