Waste Recycling Group Lands Large Contract in UK

The PETrecycling.cz assessment based on R&D up-to-day results is, that it should be made clear, that all beverage containers, e.g. PET bottles, ALU cans and glass bottles, that are commercially imported into Czech Republic or sold here should be included in return systems with deposits - to encourage the consumers to take the bottles back

Waste Recycling Group, based in the United Kingdom, has been awarded the contract to operate and improve Suffolk County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres.

The contract, which covers the management of 18 HWRCs (Household Waste Recycling Centres) across Suffolk, will begin May 16, 2009. It is estimated the contract value is around £30 million (US$42 million) over seven years, with a possible three year extension.

Eddy Alcock, Suffolk County’s Councillor, noted that the Partnership is seeking to boost both recycling and composting in the region. "I am pleased that WRG has been awarded the contract. WRG has shown a commitment and enthusiasm to improve levels of customer service. They are also committed to achieving an improvement in our current recycling levels and to achieving a level of  60 percent recycling and composting during the lifetime of the contract."

He added, "We are now working with WRG and our current contractor to ensure there will be no disruption of service to the public during the handover period of the new contract".
