Water bottling plant expansion in Bahrain

A new PET bottling unit was opened at the Samaheej plant by the Bahrain Water Bottling and Beverages Company.

The $177,000 plant is capable of producing 16.8 million bottles of water a year. The unit will produce water for the Delta, Tylos and Salsabil brands.

The new unit will double the capacity of the plant. Of the total production, 60% is sold in Bahrain while the remaining 40% of products are exported to Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In February 2007, Bahrain Water Bottling and Beverages Company was acquired by Bahrain based General Trading and Food Processing (Trafco), which was previously the major shareholder with 41% shares of the business.
