One recent example is the South American film manufacturer Oben Licht Group where this occurred in early 2009. In an interview with EREMA News editors, Erik Sosa, the Group’s technical director, describes what prompted his company to rely on EREMA technology once again. EREMA NEWS: Mr. Sosa, your group has been an EREMA customer since as far back as 2001. How would you describe your experience with our products? ERIK SOSA: You are right, we installed a total of three EREMA systems between 2001 and 2005. They all run smoothly at our BOPP del Ecuador and OPP Perú plants, where they serve in conjunction with our CPP and BOPP lines sourced from DMT and Brückner. EREMA NEWS: And yet, in the context of Quality from the world market leader displaces Asian systems the 2007 expansion of your plant in Peru and the commissioning of a brand-new Brückner production line at OPP Film in Argentina, your choice fell on two recycling systems made in the Far East. Why?ERIK SOSA: The performance specifications stated and, needless to say, the lower investment volume, tipped the scales for us at the time. But sometimes buying cheap is expensive, and looking back, this was admittedly the case. After just a few months we found that the efficiency of the products bought in China was a far cry from what we get out of our existing EREMA equipment. We therefore decided recently to replace the Asian-built machines with two new EREMA type 1109 T-HG systems. For us, EREMA is synonymous with the best available quality and unsurpassed efficiency in the plastics recycling machine market. EREMA NEWS: Could you name some specific disadvantages of the Chinese recycling systems for us? ERIK SOSA: The main problems lie in the fact that they fall short of the overall performance levels stated in the manufacturer's specifications. In addition, the quality of the pellets which we now sell mostly to outside customers left something to be desired. We have a good name in South and Central America, and we stand for high product quality ourselves. So we really have no room for anything but the most efficient machinery and processes in our plants. EREMA NEWS: What will be your future strategy?

We feel truly well supported and looked after. And we expect this to remain so in the future, for with the two new EREMA systems we shall be mustering a substantial recycling capacity in excess of 1,500 kg/h. EREMA NEWS: Thank you very much for speaking to us, Mr. Sosa.
