The BASIC version of the modular VACUREMA system consists in its core of a vacuum reactor with tangentially flanged single-screw extruder and a melt filter filtering as fine as 32 μm. EREMA's VACUREMA system operates quickly

As an example, a customer in Southeast Asia (who wishes not to be named) started up a VACUREMA BASIC 906 T-VS with a capacity of around 200 kg/h in January 2007. The company processes PET flakes to produce pellets that comply with strict US-FDA regulations. "We buy washed flake material locally and process it using the VACUREMA system" confirms a company representative. Since the two-week commissioning and training phase during the first quarter of 2007, the company's personnel are in a very good position to operate the system in 4 shifts. And he adds, "After just a few months of operation we are already very pleased with this machine. It runs really well. We particularly appreciate access to EREMA's online service. Via a telephone line and modem we receive valuable support when required in order to ensure optimum productivity of our plant." It's really true: no need for IV increaseThe customer uses the PET pellets to manufacture their own mineral water bottles. Another application is bottles for cosmetic products. Up to 20% of recycled pellets are mixed in at the pre-form stage in water bottle production to reduce the requirement for new material. For making the cosmetic bottles up to 100% recycled pellets can be used without problems. "The bottles fully comply with all of our company's quality specifications …" adds the company's representative. This is all possible using a compact, easy-to-operate VACUREMA BASIC plant – without having to increase the IV value during reprocessing. According to the customer, the slight reduction in IV during processing of around 0 to 3%, depending on the starting material, has absolutely no influence on the recycled product for these applications. And this ties in with EREMA's experience with other customers. Upgrading the modular VACUREMA BASIC system to a fully-equipped VACUREMA ADVANCED or VACUREMA PRIME system to include IV increase can be implemented as required at any time. This means that customers who decide to start with a VACUREMA BASIC system purchase a future-safe process which can be upgraded if stricter technological or material specifications need to be met at a later stage. PET secondary raw material production at lowest costFor customers in search of a process which supplies FDA-certified, ILSI Europe-approved, fine-filtered (32 μm) bottle-to-bottle grade PET regranulate material at lowest cost, which are looking for an advanced technology, easy-to-operate, energy-saving recycling system that takes up very little space thanks to its compactness and low height, the VACUREMA BASIC system is an ideal solution.
