The Spanish PET producer Brilén S.A. has awarded Zimmer AG of Frankfurt, and Lurgi Española S.A., Madrid, a contract to supply and build a polyester polycondensation plant on a turnkey basis. The plant is due to go on stream in the fourth quarter of 2004 in Barbastro (Aragón). Based on Zimmer’s continuous polycondensation process, the plant will produce 115,500 tons of PET pellets per annum. Zimmer provides the technology, engineering and equipment and supervises the installation and commissioning of the plant. Lurgi Española is in charge of the construction and performance of the installation.
