|
The densifier is a machine used to reduce
the volume of plastic material, in film or fibre, etc. form, in order to
obtain a higher specific weight.

The process consists in
loading the material to the densifier through a belt. The densifier is
composed by a cylinder with rotating blades at the bottom.
The blades rotate very fast frictioning
the material. In the first part of the process the friction cause the
elimination of the possible moisturepresent. Once the moisture is gone
the material temperature starts to rise up to a level where the
material starts to melt. At this stage the operator adds water into
the densifying chamber.The water casues the material to suddenly
solify and the blades (still in rotation) break the solified material
in irregular shape granules. The dimension of the granules depends on
the material and on the length of the process. |
