My closing statement read: "There is only one real effective and incentive method to encourage environmentally sound collecting of beverage one-way containers and it is deposit in combination with High-Tech R&D resulted Reverse Vending Machines!"

DG PETCORE Frank Koelewijn: "I am concerned with the haste with which legislators in candidate countries scramble to impose laws just to meet EU requirements. They risk making costly mistakes. Instead, they should request fast moving consumer goods manufacturers to come up with a sound business plan for the collection of recyclable household waste such, that it meets local economic, social and cultural needs. It is so much easier to do things right in the first place, instead of having to repair a dysfunctional collection system."


Sales growth of eight percent. Revenue from continuing operations up 11 percent. Decline in North America, flat growth in Europe and revenue of NOK 328 million in South America.
 

Ordinary profit before tax of NOK 63 million. 
Write-down and losses of NOK 444.2 million recorded in 2001 related to activity in California, U.S non-deposit states and Germany. 
Postponement of implementation of deposit on non-refillable containers in Germany and Netherlands. Denmark introduced deposit on non-refillable containers January 2002. 
Established platform for future operations in Japan. 
Forty percent increase in technology investments.
