TOWARDS eENVIRONMENT

The PETrecycling.cz assessment based on R&D up-to-day results is, that it should be made clear, that all beverage containers, e.g. PET bottles, ALU cans and glass bottles, that are commercially imported into Czech Republic or sold here should be included in return systems with deposits - to encourage the consumers to take the bottles back

The European conference Towards eEnvironment is dedicated to information exchange among public administrations, EU institutions, environmental agencies, scientists and businesses involved in developing and using environmental informatics for the delivery of modern eEnvironment services in Europe.

The conference is organised by the Masaryk University in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic, the European Commission and European Environment Agency

Main topics for the conference will include; ICT research towards the development of a Single Information Space in Europe for the Environment (SISE); best practices of European Member States in the implementation of the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS); cooperation and integration of GMES and INSPIRE activities.

The conference will display state-of-the-art in environmental informatics and opportunities towards the development and implementation of two related initiatives, SEIS and SISE. Special focus will be on the following topics:

  • Building SEIS, Europe's backbone for eGovernment environment services. Does Europe champion challenges and seize the opportunities in provision of eEnvironment/eParticipation services?

  • ICT research towards enabling a Single Information Space in Europe for the Environment (SISE). How can ICT contribute to strengthen a collaborative information space on the web that will maximise the use of distributed environmental information for multiple purposes and actors?

  • ICT for monitoring and controlling of energy efficiency and security, environmental modelling of air pollution, climate changes to support decision making in environment protection.

The conference is a meeting place for experts on leading edge ICT technologies. It aims to foster the standardization and integration of environmental data and information flows in Europe and beyond, which are essential pre-requirements for managing our natural resources in a framework of sustainable development.

The European conference Towards eEnvironment is open to governmental institutions, international and intergovernmental organisations, environmental agencies and networks, scientists, academicians, politicians, businesses, managers of corporate social responsibility, public administration and decision makers in the field of environmental information, experts from ICT industry, specialists of theoretical and applied informatics, consultants, students and the concerned public.

The conference unifying thread is Integrating Environmental Knowledge in Europe.
